Working outside of Port-au-Prince, Einstein Albert cares about Haiti not as an outsider, but as a Haitian, an attitude that is reflected in his work. As they rebuild their nation that has been devastated by natural disaster and political unrest, he strives to use sustainable materials and manufacturing practices, guaranteeing that his craft supports this effort. Creating wooden bowls and utensils that marry enviable design with flawless technique, Albert's craftsmanship delights the conscious consumer. The wood is indigenous of the Aquin, Nippes and Gonave regions of Haiti, and the pieces are treated with up to ten layers of lacquer to bring out the wood's naturally brilliant hues and incomparable textures.

Albert's wares represent a distinctly Haitian mentality, appealing to both the fastidious aesthete and the dogged functionalist.

Not only are they beautiful and functional, but they also boast durability unmatched in the market, able to weather heat and cold and require little maintenance. Einstein Albert's spirit is also one of resilience and tremendous beauty, and it is our goal to help this attitude become a driving force for the rebuilding of Haiti, where local artisans are empowered rather than exploited and, over time, become a globally recognized source for luxury goods.
